The $100 million bridge replacement began in 2018 and replaces a bridge originally constructed in 1911.

Governor Charlie Baker and Lt. Governor Karyn Polito were today joined by federal, state, MassDOT, MBTA, and local leadership to celebrate the opening of the Medford Branch of the Green Line Extension.
The branch includes five new stations and extends the northern end of the Green Line through Somerville and Medford, Mass.

Gov. of Massachusetts Charlie Baker, Massachusetts Transportation Secretary and CEO Jamey Tesler and MBTA General Manager Steve Poftak were joined by elected leaders and community partners to celebrate the substantial completion of the $159 million contract for South Coast Rail Main Line construction at a ribbon-cutting event at the brand-new Freetown Commuter Rail Station.
The $159 million contract awarded included construction of two brand-new stations in Freetown and Fall River.
