Cubic Corp. announced its Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) business division will exhibit innovations and technologies for smart city transportation planning at the 10th Transport Ticketing Global conference, held at the iconic Old Billingsgate Market, London, United Kingdom from January 23–24. At the event, Cubic will demonstrate its account-based ticketing and open-payment platforms, new mobile technologies and other strategies for increasing efficiencies for transportation operators and convenience and accessibility for travelers. Transport Ticketing is the world’s largest public transport gathering, bringing together key industry players from the intelligent ticketing, passenger and smart cities industries.
Account-based ticketing, using Cubic’s One Account platform, is driven by the company’s back office that integrates account-based ticketing, closed-loop smart cards and open-loop bankcard payments on a single, cloud-based and open platform. It also manages demand, reduces fare collection costs and opens new revenue streams.
“One Account provides a single point of payment through a traveler’s registered online account to manage fares across all transportation modes,” said John Pickworth, business development director of Europe, CTS. “For bus and rail it allows users to simply tap and go with a credit or debit card that is already in their wallet or mobile phone, without the need for physical smart cards or stopping at a machine for top-up. This is an exciting proposition delivering guaranteed best fares and an improved travel experience for customers.”
Cubic will exhibit other payment technologies at Stand #A24, including:
- Demonstration of Cubic’s Mobile Suite for travelers, merchants and fare inspectors
- Future concepts, including the latest evolution of the intelligent gate line concept, providing early travel token validation and the option to remove the gate as a physical barrier
In addition, Cubic representatives will present at the following sessions:
