The Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board welcomed new member Cindy Chavez at the rail agency’s meeting.
Chavez was sworn in and will represent the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority on the JPB. She is taking over for Ken Yeager who stepped down in January after 17 years on the board.
Chavez also serves on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors.
The JPB is the governing body of Caltrain, the commuter rail service that operates in San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
