Caltrain Board Welcomes New Member Gillian Gillett

The Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (JPB) welcomed Gillian Gillett, San Francisco Board of Supervisors appointee, representing the city and county of San Francisco at its June monthly meeting.

The Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (JPB) welcomed Gillian Gillett, San Francisco Board of Supervisors appointee, representing the city and county of San Francisco at its June monthly meeting.

Gillett is the director of transportation policy for the city and county of San Francisco and has been working on modernizing Caltrain at a staff level for the past five years.  She has also participated in the SF2030 Transportation Task Force and has acted as senior staff for Caltrain Staff Coordinating Committee and worked with California High Speed Rail. 

The board of directors is the governing body of Caltrain, the commuter rail service that operates in San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. Caltrain is managed by the San Mateo County Transit District, in partnership with the City and County of San Francisco and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority. The nine-member board of directors is composed of three members from each of the three partner agencies.

The Board of Directors meets the first Thursday of the month at 10 a.m. in the Edward J. Bacciocco Auditorium located on the second floor at its administrative offices, 1250 San Carlos Ave. in San Carlos.
