Rochester Mayor Kim Norton is planning a town-hall meeting focused on transportation in the city.

The event is slated for 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at John Marshall High School, 1510 14th St. NW.

Following similar events to discuss police use of technology and city utilities, the transportation-focused town hall will center on how people move throughout the city and how Rochester's transportation system works together.

Norton will be joined by Transit and Parking Director Rachel Fautsch, Mode Shift Coordinator Matt Lynch and Assistant City Engineer and Municipal Services Manager Amy Kreofsky.

Topics are expected to include Rochester Public Transit, parking, the upcoming LINK Bus Rapid Transit system and opportunities to walk, bike and roll throughout the community.

Participants will discuss how streets, sidewalks, transit connections and parking can support safe, efficient, accessible and reliable travel. The conversation will also consider how a connected transportation network can expand access and support a more equitable, sustainable and resilient community.

The town hall is free and open to the public. An RSVP is appreciated but not required, and can be found online.
