A new regional transit tax is not priority for county executives L. Brooks Patterson and Mark Hackel.
On Thursday, Wayne County Executive Warren Evans presented his “Connect Southeast Michigan” transit plan to the Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan board with hopes of having his oakland and macomb counterparts cozying up to the idea of a new regional transit tax.
Hackel and Patterson remain firm on a message they’ve been voicing for months. That’s not going to happen.
