The additional officers will help Denver RTD’s Transit PD proactively address other problems on bus and rail vehicles, as well as situations at stops and stations around the district.
The report notes that historic levels of federal funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act provides significant opportunities for improving rail infrastructure, but also provides criminals with a lucrative target for fraud.
The TSA recognition is awarded to a transit agency for achieving top scores during an annual review of 20 categories of security and emergency preparedness elements.
The campaign, Transit Against Child Trafficking, provides practical resources to educate public transportation staff and riders about how to identify and report potential instances of child sex trafficking.
The decreases include significant drops in aggravated assaults – from 32 to 24 – and robberies – from 102 to 34.
The program received the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training National Certification Program Seal of Excellence.
The major safety updates will make transit systems safer for transit workers and passengers across the U.S. while providing workers more input in safety-making decisions through enhanced safety committees.
