The Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority was awarded a $4.5 million federal grant to be used for the first leg of a planned $14 million transit center to be located in downtown Martinsburg, officials said Monday.
The funding was announced Monday by U.S. Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., members of the Senate Appropriations Committee.
The 5339 Bus Facilities grant will be used to build the first phase of the estimated 4-acre bus transportation facility to be located in downtown Martinsburg, said EPTA Director Doug Pixler.
