Transdev North America and the city of Colorado Springs, Colo., will extend Transdev's contract for maintaining the bus fleet at Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT).
Transdev provides the management, maintenance and repairs of MMT's fleet under MMT’s Transit Fleet Maintenance Program. Transdev is responsible for the maintenance and repairs of the transit fleet and the related equipment.
“We are proud of the relationships that we have built with the community and its stakeholders as a result of operating in the region for nearly a decade,” said Ron Bushman, regional vice president for Transdev’s Rockies Region.
Transdev maintains 169 vehicles for the busy Mountain Metro Transit system. Over the summer, the service continued to beat ridership records month over month, increasing the importance and focus on well-maintained, reliable and safe vehicles passengers can trust.
“Keeping our buses well maintained is a priority for MMT,” said Lan Rao, MMT transit division manager. “Well maintained buses are critical for safety and keeping the service our riders expect and need. As stewards of taxpayer dollars, it is also important to keep our buses running for as long as possible. We feel Transdev understands this and are confident they will continue to make sure that these priorities for vehicle maintenance are met.”
“Based on our longstanding relationship with MMT, we understand their maintenance and service expectations and standards and know the landscape, passengers, the community, and the operating conditions. We feel this knowledge, combined with our dedicated team and commitment to safety, can continue to bring value to our client for many years to come,” Bushman said.
