Charlotte Area Transit System has launched SpokeHub, a mobile app that utilizes Augmented Reality (AR) to engage in two-way communication with riders.

CATS will utilize SpokeHub to share important messages and engage in dialogue on different transit-related topics and issues. Spokehub is available for download in the Apple and GooglePlay store. Users can find CATS prominently displayed on the main page of the app or search for ‘Charlotte Area Transit System” on SpokeHub. The AR feature in the app is triggered by any CATS logo. Users are encouraged to hold their mobile device up to the CATS logo to view an important message from CATS CEO John Lewis.

“While CATS continues to engage with customers via email Rider’s Alerts, social media and through our customer service team, we are always exploring new ways to reach our customers,” said CATS CEO John Lewis. “My team will take the feedback received in SpokeHub to actively find solutions creating a better transit system.”

For joining the CATS hub in the app, riders will be awarded a one-day transit pass which can be used on bus and rail available through CATS Mobile Ticketing app.
