Pierce Transit was recently awarded $1.66 million from the Federal Transportation Administration for collision warning and autonomous braking technology implementation and research. The total project, with a $2.9 million price tag, will supply all of Pierce’s 176 buses with visual senor and alarm systems, and 30 with an additional emergency braking system.
