Transdev North America announced the promotion of Ibrahima Toure to regional vice president for its Southwest Region. Over the past year, he has been the area vice president of the region.

Toure joined Transdev in 2004 as a bus operator in Denver, Colo., while he was in college.  He took that experience and translated it into 15 years of progressive career advancement within the company.

He transitioned from his driver/operator role to the safety and training supervisor upon graduation from college. In 2009, he moved from safety to operations and became the general manager for Transdev’s operation in Chico, Calif. From there, he moved into the vice president of business development role in 2013, where he was integral in securing multiple contract wins and helping Transdev grow its business. He then moved on to become the area vice president role for the Southwest region in 2018.

Ibrahima joined the company with much enthusiasm and a strong desire to learn. He has applied those traits throughout his career at Transdev, as his level of responsibility continued to increase,” said Mike Setzer, president of transit at Transdev North America. “He has extensive knowledge of the transportation industry and has brought a lot of value to our organization and to our clients over the years through his impressive work ethic, positive business results and strong client relationships.  I look for that to continue as he assumes this new role and continues to be a valued member of the transit management team.”

Among his certifications and accomplishments, he holds a Master of Science degree in Business Administration from Denver’s Regis University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Networking. He is an active APTA leadership committee member, along with being an APTA leadership program graduate, a former Mass Transit 40 Under 40 award recipient and a Certified Community Transit Manager.
