The following is a statement from Caltrain and SamTrans;
We at Caltrain and SamTrans are deeply saddened by news of the untimely death of San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee this morning.
Mayor Lee was an exceptional leader, who was passionate about representing the city of San Francisco and its residents.
As a partner in the Caltrain system, Mayor Lee was committed to supporting Caltrain, and improving the service to better serve San Francisco residents and the region.
As a tribute to Mayor Lee, Caltrain and SamTrans will join other Bay Area public transit systems and pause service for one minute at noon today.
Mayor Lee’s legacy will live on and will continue to leave a positive mark on the city he loved. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to his family during this difficult time.
