TTC upgrading service on 128 Stanley Greene Line

The new service, which is the result of community engagement, begins March 27 and will connect customers to Wilson Station during rush hours.

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is upgrading its bus service on the 128 Stanley Greene Line. The new service, which is set to begin March 27, will connect customers to Wilson Station during rush hours Monday to Friday, between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Additionally, service on the existing 101 Downsview Park route will be modified to operate between the Stanley Greene neighborhood and Downsview Park Station. This route will operate on weekdays between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. and on weekends between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., beginning March 26.

“I’m pleased to see the TTC is responding to residents' needs with improved service in the Stanley Greene Neighborhood,” said Deputy Mayor of Toronto Jennifer McKelvie. “In the 2023 budget, we increased the city’s subsidy to the TTC in part to help improve service in areas that need it most.”

“The transit service improvements in Stanley Greene are a direct result of extensive consultation with neighborhood residents,” said TTC Chair Jon Burnside. “Identifying service improvement opportunities through community consultation is a fantastic example of how we can work together to deliver service to our customers where they need it. On behalf of the TTC Board, I commend the TTC team for bringing this route to fruition.”

Customers can use the new 128 Stanley Greene to travel to and from Wilson Station or the existing 101 Downsview Park to connect with Downsview Park Station and access the subway and GO Transit (Barrie Line). The 128 Stanley Greene will operate every 30 minutes during weekday rush hours. The 101 Downsview Park will operate every 30 minutes on weekdays between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. and on weekends between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.

“The residents of Stanley Greene have been strong advocates for more public transit services in their neighborhood, and I am pleased that, together with the TTC, we have achieved this outcome,” said Councilor James Pasternak, York Centre. “The new bus service loop will greatly benefit Stanley Greene and the surrounding neighborhoods.”

The new 128 Stanley Greene bus service will operate along Stanley Greene Boulevard, Frederick Tisdale Drive and Locust Lodge Gardens, and then from Keele Street at Downsview Park Boulevard to Wilson Avenue and continue to Wilson Station for easy connection to Line 1 Yonge-University and other TTC bus routes.

The 101 Downsview Park will operate along Stanley Greene Boulevard, Frederick Tisdale Drive and Locust Lodge Gardens and then from Keele Street at Downsview Park Boulevard to Downsview Park Station, where customers can transfer to Line 1 Yonge-University, GO Transit (Barrie Line) and bus routes, including 84 Sheppard West, 106 Sentinel, 107 York University Heights, 108 Driftwood and 984 Sheppard West Express on street.

“We are focused on delivering more frequent service to the areas across the city that need it most. This is all part of our strategy to match service to demand,” said TTC CEO Rick Leary. “We want to thank all of the customers and residents of Stanley Greene who engaged with us in the development of this new service and look forward to their continued feedback.”
