On Aug. 1, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) began the phased deployment of its 24 ProMaster 2nd generation vehicles into revenue service for ACCESS Paratransit.
According to the agency, the new vehicles feature upgrades designed to provide a safer and more comfortable experience for passengers, including:
Wider passenger seating, including a rear bariatric seat, to improve rider comfort and accessibility.
An interior slope with supportive handrails for ambulatory riders to safely and comfortably access the rear seating area.
USB Type A and USB Type C charging ports available for passenger use.
An upgraded Braunability ramp system with a 1,000-pound capacity and a 33-inch-width, providing safer, smoother and more accessible boarding for mobility device users.
