April 10, 2018
A possible strike by Dutchess County's bus system workers would not happen until at least next week, if at all, according to a representative of Local 445 of the Teamsters union.

A possible strike by Dutchess County's bus system workers would not happen until at least next week, if at all, according to a representative of Local 445 of the Teamsters union.

Jerry Ebert of the Teamsters Monday afternoon said the union was awaiting a formal contract proposal from Dutchess County and First Transit, which along with its subsidiary, Transit Management of Dutchess County, operates the county bus system.

A vote on any proposal would not be held before this coming Sunday, April 15, because that is when the employees could next meet, Ebert said. And if the proposal is not received with enough lead time for union members to study it before Sunday, the vote could be delayed until April 22, Ebert said.
