Axiomtek has introduced the eBOX565-500-FL, an Intel Skylake ULT-based fanless embedded system with rich I/O interfaces in a compact system size. The power-efficient embedded box PC is designed to support the 6th generation Intel Core i5-6300U or Celeron 3955U processor (formally codename: Skylake) with one 260-pin DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM socket with up to 16GB system memory. Two HDMI ports with up to 4K resolution are supported for dual independent display applications. The flexible yet noiseless embedded platform is ideal for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions, digital signage, retail equipment, smart factory automation, thin clients, and industrial controller system.
“The eBOX565-500-FL is designed for reliable use in industrial environments with an IP40-rated enclosure, a wide range 9 to 36 VDC power input, a wide temperature ranges from -10°C to 50°C (14°F to 122°F), as well as up to 3G vibration endurance,” said Janney Lee, product manager of Embedded PM Division at Axiomtek. “Its fanless design and excellent thermal solution allows it to offer optimum computing performance and operate without noise.”
To fulfill various needs, the palm-sized industrial embedded computer, which measures 141.6 x 106 x 73 mm in size, provides rich I/O connectivity including two HDMI ports, one RS-232/422/485 port, one RS-232 port, four USB 3.0 ports, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, and two SMA type connector openings for antenna. One PCI Express Mini Card slot enables the addition of Wi-Fi, 3G, or LTE wireless cards.
Additionally, the Intel Skylake ULT SoC-based box computer provides one 2.5” SATA HDD and one mSATA for data storage. A user-friendly front-access AT/ATX DIP switch is designed to allow users to make adjustments with a single click. This space-saving embedded system supports Jumbo Frame (9.5K), wake-on-LAN (WoL), PXE Remote Boot as well as teaming, and it is compatible with Windows 10, WE8S, WES7 and Linux. For flexible installation, the fanless embedded platform can be VESA-mounted, wall-mounted or DIN-rail mounted upon request.
