DART agrees to license GoPass to Trinity Metro

The new agreement will bring several new features to the scope of the platform for Trinity Metro.

The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Board has approved the authorization of DART extending operations of the GoPass® mobile app to Trinity Metro for at least the next 36 months.

That agreement now goes to the Trinity Metro Board for approval later this month.

The GoPass mobile app was introduced by DART in 2013. It is an all-in-one travel tool that gives customers real-time travel information, mobile ticketing and on-demand services through their phone for transit throughout North Texas.

GoPass has always included Trinity Metro, but this new agreement, with an additional 24-month option, will bring several new features to the scope of the platform.

New features added will include real-time transit integration via NextBus, Via on-demand service, Lyft integration, Uber integration and B-Cycle bike sharing.

DART is actively pursuing licensing GoPass to transit agencies like Trinity Metro. Doing so supports long-term funding for feature development, builds Mobility as a Service (MaaS) capabilities by combining transportation services from public and private providers and benefits DART customers by adding a wider variety of choices and services through the platform.
