Talgo Commences and Ramps Up Overhaul Work in Milwaukee

Talgo received the first vehicle from Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority in its Milwaukee facility on June 15th, 2017.

On September 22, 2016, LACMTA awarded a contract to Talgo to improve the performance of the Metro Red Line A650 HRVs by replacing and/or overhauling critical Vehicle systems and subsystems.


TriMet, C-TRAN and Portland Streetcar Officially Launch Hop Fastpass

TriMet and partners C-TRAN and Portland Streetcar celebrated the launch of Hop Fastpass — a new and better way to pay your transit fare seamlessly throughout the Portland-Vancouver region. Hop is an electronic-fare payment system. Riders can now use contactless payment devices such as a Hop card to pay their fare and in the coming weeks, riders also will be able to use a contactless bank card or smartphone with a mobile wallet connected to a bank card to pay for their trips.


CCW Delivers Final Rehab Buses to City of Cerritos

Complete Coach Works made the final delivery of 5 buses to FirstGroup PLC in the city of Cerritos.

The 30-foot buses received complete makeovers along with major component replacements consisting of engines, transmissions, suspension parts, radiators, batteries, power steering pumps, surge tanks and exhaust systems.


GTA Recognition of Accident-Free Miles

During the May Board Meeting, Greensboro Transit Authority and Transdev-Greensboro recognized 25 fixed-route and paratransit operators with one and two million accident-free miles.

Kitsap Fast Ferries Inaugurates Bremerton-Seattle Service

Kitsap Transit began passenger ferry service today between Bremerton and Seattle, a big milestone after more than a decade of work. The Kingston-Seattle service is slated to begin next summer, Southworth-Seattle in 2020.

Valley Metro announced Mary Modelski as internal auditor. Modelski will be responsible for developing and directing Valley Metro’s comprehensive audit program in order to evaluate internal controls and support management of business risks. She has more than 18 years of experience auditing diverse businesses processes, operational efficiency and effectiveness.


Paula Novacek

Valley Metro

Valley Metro announced Paula Novacek as controller to the agency’s Finance Division. Novacek will be responsible for managing the accounting function and developing financial processes, policies and procedures, internal controls and performance measures for the Finance Division. She has more than 24 years in governmental accounting and auditing experience.


Mike James

City of Phoenix Public Transit Department

Mike James joined the city of Phoenix Public Transit department as the city’s first BRT Administrator. He has more than 20 years of transportation experience and was most recently managing rail and transit corridors in Seattle, which included streetcar operations and seven new bus rapid transit corridors.


Trischelle Baysden


Omnitrans announced Trischelle Baysden as director of Rail. Baysden brings 25 years of experience in rail operations, including the past nine years at Metrolink commuter rail service, governed by the Southern California Regional Rail Authority. Her background includes a broad spectrum of knowledge including conducting, engineering, dispatching, scheduling, and federal compliance work.


Jennifer Kalczuk


AlphaVu announced the addition of Jennifer Kalczuk as vice president for Client Relations. Kalczuk was previously with The Rapid in Grand Rapids, Michigan, for the past 18 years and has served on the American Public Transportation Association’s board of directors and has been president of the Michigan Public Transit Association.
