STM receives 54th Azur train

July 1, 2019
The trains were originally part of 2010 contract and come with more space and better ventilation.

The Societe de transport de Montreal (STM) has received delivery of the final Azur train ordered as part of a contract between STM and the Bombardier-Alstom consortium (CBA).

As concerns the provisions of the contractual amendment for the acquisition of 17 additional trains, CBA has confirmed the majority of its suppliers, and the schedule for this second phase still calls for the first train to be delivered in spring 2020 and the last in fall 2021. Funded by the provincial and federal governments, the acquisition of these modern, efficient and more comfortable Azur trains will be a major addition to the STM’s 2025 plan for public transit in the greater Montréal area.

The addition of these trains, which have eight percent more space and better ventilation, will allow us to considerably improve our customers’ travel experience. Eventually, 90 percent of trains running on the Green line will be Azur trains.
