Thales continues to make progress with upgrading the Société de Transport de Montréal’s transit network.

In 2018, STM awarded Thales a contract to provide new computer based interlocking systems across all lines of the rapid transit system in Montreal. The contract included replacing the existing signaling equipment across eight stations and garages to allow STM to maintain service quality and keep pace with increasing ridership.

In 2021, Green line stations Frontenac and Angrignon, along with Orange line station Côte-Vertu, entered revenue service with LockTrac™, the interlocking technology from Thales. Garage Angrignon and Garage Côte-Vertu are currently undergoing the equipment replacement with scheduled completions in 2021. The final three stations will be completed in 2022.
