Cincinnati Metro promoted two people to top leadership positions, with John Ravasio named as chief operating officer (COO) and Michelle Jeng named as chief financial officer (CFO) effective Jan. 27, 2020.
Ravasio is responsible for overseeing Metro’s operations, fleet and facilities and accessible services.
He joined Metro in 2011 and most recently served as director of employee and labor relations/employment law before being promoted to interim COO. Cincinnati Metro notes that while in this role, he led efforts that resulted in improved fleet reliability and increased on-time performance above levels not reached in years. Prior to Metro, he served as an attorney for Veolia Transportation and has been a lead negotiator for multiple public transit labor contracts throughout the United States.
Ravasio holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Relations from Notre Dame University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Cincinnati, College of Law.
Michelle Jeng, CTP, is responsible for overseeing the organization’s $100 million operating budget, capital program, grants administration, financial reporting, treasury management activities and investments.
Metro calls Jeng an accomplished financial professional with more than 20 years of experience in financial services and treasury management. She joined Metro in 2018 as senior director of Treasury followed by serving as interim CFO. While serving as interim CFO, Jeng led the organization’s 2020 budget process and maintained a balanced budget for 2019, ending the year with a more than $1 million surplus. Under her leadership, Metro was also awarded more than $22 million in grants.
Prior to joining Metro, she served as treasury manager for Vertiv Co. She has also held leadership roles with TimkenSteel Corporation and Fifth Third Bank.
