The agency will interview five candidates.

According to an announcement from the Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD), the board of directors has selected five individuals as preliminary candidates to interview for the interim general manager and CEO position.

The board selected these five candidates from a pool of applicants in accordance with search and selection requirements.

“We received more than 40 applications from qualified candidates all over the country,” said RTD Board Chair Doug Tisdale. “We have narrowed it down to the best possible men and women who are more than capable to lead the agency on an interim basis until the permanent leader is named.”

The board will interview the preliminary candidates during one or more special board meetings to be held as necessary. All interviews will be conducted in executive session, commencing Jan. 9.

“The RTD Selection Committee is committed to conducting a thoughtful and thorough process to find the best person to lead the agency during this interim period, until a permanent CEO is hired. It is the group’s utmost priority to select an individual who is ready to lead RTD during both great opportunities and sustained challenges,” Tisdale said.

Subsequently, the RTD Board of Directors plans to pursue a nationwide recruitment for a permanent general manager and CEO. RTD’s current General Manager and CEO Dave Genova will retire Jan. 20 after 26 years of service with RTD.
