Cincinnati Metro Vice President of Safety & Security/Chief Safety Officer TJ Thorn has been named as an Associate Instructor for the Transportation Safety Institute (TSI), Transit Safety and Security Division.
Established in 1971, TSI provides safety training for safety professionals in federal, state and local government agencies and the private industry.
As an associate instructor, Thorn will provide training to transportation professionals from the around the country. He will teach the Effectively Managing Transit Emergencies course.
Thorn has more than 25 years of experience in environment, health, and safety within the manufacturing and transportation industries. Before coming to Cincinnati Metro, he held the position of Environmental Health and Safety Group Leader over four manufacturing sites for Nippon Sheet Glass.
He is a certified Occupational Health and Safety Technologist, Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer and National Safety Council CPR/First-Aid and AED Trainer.
