On June 302016, BART officials unveiled a sleek new diesel-powered train which will soon serve BART to Antioch down Highway 4’s median. The vehicle is a “Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU)” and it was chosen to bring rail service to East County residents as part of the eBART project with full service set to begin winter 2017/2018.
