Lehigh and Northampton Transportation Authority has announced it will christen its new Flex Route 505 in Coopersburg Friday (July 27) at 11 a.m. The dedication of the service will be held at the Coopersburg School Apartments, 331 E State Street in Coopersburg.
LANTA Executive Director Owen P. O’Neil will be joined by Rep. Justin Simmons and Lehigh County Housing Authority Executive Director Daniel C. Beers at a ceremony at the apartments.
“Adding Flex service to the Coopersburg area will greatly enhance the lives of residents in the borough,” O’Neil said. LANtaFlex service is designed to provide transit, on an appointment basis, to the areas of the Lehigh Valley where there is demand for transit service but not enough to support a regular bus route.”.
Riders can call up to a day in advance and will be picked up at their location and taken to a nearby LANTA bus stop or other location within the Flex zone. LANTA bus stops in the Coopersburg Flex zone are at South Mall and Mountainville Shopping Center where riders can transfer to fixed route buses. Other major destinations in the zone include the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley and Weis and Giant shopping centers in Coopersburg.
