Busworld Academy and IRU (International Road Transport Union) are joining forces to organize, within Busworld India, a set of seminars to promote best policy and business practices in safe and sustainable transport.
The seminar on April 28 is dedicated to “Smart Policy and Smart Technology for Smart City Mobility,” with the discussions focusing on sustainable mobility, sustainable urban planning, bus rapid transit, and coach tourism.
Janusz Lacny, IRU president, said, “Building on IRU’s international experience and expertise as well as our achievements with the joint Smart Move campaign to double the use of buses and coaches, we want to launch, together with our Indian partners and stakeholders, an all-Indian Smart Move High Level Group, to identify the main barriers and work out practical solutions to achieve safe, sustainable and affordable mobility for all, at the lowest cost for society."
The seminar on 29 April, entitled "In the footsteps of Prime Minister Mr. Modi: Increasing mobility via cleaner, safer and effective bus and coach services” focuses on electro-mobility and safety as part of the Smart Move campaign and its values.
Didier Ramoudt, president of Busworld International, said, “Throughout its existence, Busworld has been a focal point for people who want to find all kinds of information on the many aspects of the bus and coach industry. Using our worldwide network of exhibitors, operators, academics, journalists, engineers and other contacts, we have always been able to point people in the right direction. We have formalised these abilities by establishing the Busworld Academy. For each region, we adapt the Busworld Academy seminars to the local needs. For India this is clearly to have a cleaner, safer and more effective bus and coach service.”
The two-day seminars , are supported by UN-Habitat, Embarq India, the Travel Agents Association of India and the European Business and Technology Centre (EBTC).
The 6th edition of Busworld India is taking place at Mumbai, April 28-30.
