The Eno Center for Transportation (Eno) and the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) will hold a press event at 9:30 a.m. this Friday, June 8, to release the Eno paper Better Use of Public Dollars: Economic Impact Analysis in Transportation.
Eno will present its first annual William P. Eno Research Paper, a competitive paper competition among Eno's Leadership Development Conference Fellows. Authored by Texas A&M Graduate Nick Norboge, the paper focuses on the economic impacts of the transportation decision-making process. The paper uses federal and state case studies to demonstrate that economic impact analyses can help to increase accountability and transparency, and it proposes policy changes that can further their application.
The presentation of the paper will be followed by responses to it by a panel of top experts from the government and the transportation industry. The panelists will draw on their own experience to reflect and comment on economic impacts of transportation investment.
Presentation of paper by Eno President and CEO Joshua Schank and author of the William P. Eno Paper Nicholas Norboge.
Respondents’ Panel to include: Moderated by Adam Snider (Transportation Reporter, POLITICO); Mortimer Downey (Former Deputy Secretary, U.S. Department of Transportation and member of the Eno Board of Directors); Tyler Duvall (Former Acting Under Secretary for Policy, U.S. Department of Transportation and member of the Eno Board of Advisors); Susan Binder (Senior Associate, Cambridge Systematics); Robert Atkinson (President, The Information Technology and Innovation Foundation); and Charles Hulten (Professor of Economics, University of Maryland).
