Designed exclusively to meet the requirements of the North American market and with various interior specifications, the Enviro500 is the world’s best-selling 3-axle double deck bus and forms the backbone of many North American cities’ fleets including Seattle, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Toronto, Vancouver and Ottawa.
Available at 13’6 height or at 12’10 height for the SuperLo express commuter variant (with integral luggage space) the Enviro500 offers the unique combination of high capacity and comfort for transit and interurban journeys.
Low floor and easy to access, the vehicles are constructed on a steel chassis with a lightweight aluminum body structure making them more fuel efficient with industry-leading reliability, lowest cost of ownership and best-in-class aftermarket support. With stunning street presence, they occupy the same footprint as a conventional single deck bus and are capable of carrying up to 100 passengers. They are ‘Buy America’ compliant and Altoona tested and, due to their low heights, can operate with ease across USA and Canada.

The HAFAS Information Manager HIM provides passengers with fast and accurate information on service disruptions. HIM supports all possible communication channels such as trip planners, RSS feeds, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
HIM is a rule-based editor which allows transit authorities to ensure that disruptions are associated with the relevant services only. This includes the location, duration and nature of the disruption. Based on schedule and real-time situation, HIM will automatically detect which services are affected and only inform those passengers. So instead of a general broadcast message, HIM ensures targeted information is shared with the affected travelers only.

BiStable ChLCD Low-Power Display System for Passenger Updates at Bus Stops & Stations
Luminator Technology Group’s BiStable display systems are suitable for indoor and outdoor use and require very little energy to display information. In fact, energy is only briefly required while updates are made. When power is turned off the existing information will continue to be displayed indefinitely until the next update is received. An optional solar panel and battery enable the solution to be completely self-sufficient in applications where no power grid is available. All equipment can be flexibly mounted to a pole, wall, or structure.
Typical applications are information boards for departure and arrival schedules, weather and time updates, advertising, and more. Updates are made remotely via wireless SMS and the content can be flexibly designed for various fonts, graphics, pictograms, and logos.

The AURA Positive Train Control System leverages advanced technology to address the unique safety and efficiency needs of the transit industry. Using ultrawide band technology as the basis for train control for the first time in the railway industry, the cost-effective and reliable system provides collision avoidance, speed and signal compliance, precision berthing, and worker protection in both above-ground and underground environments. With wirelessly networked sensor systems, the AURA PTC System does not require centralized back-office control. And the system’s modular design ensures it can easily be integrated into both new and existing transit rail systems to accommodate rapid installation schedules.

Rotary Lift
3469
Rotary Lift introduces V-REX, a vertical rise, drive-on platform lift designed to take on the biggest, toughest vehicles without a whimper. V-REX has the industry’s most rigid and structurally sound lifting platforms to provide peace of mind under even the heaviest loads. Its patent-pending half-scissor legs and mechanical locking system are built to last, with high-strength steel where it counts and fewer wear parts and stress points than others in its category.
V-REX is manufactured with more steel than other vertical rise lifts — as much as 5,000-pounds more steel per runway — for added strength without excessive cost. Rotary Lift engineers have optimized the steel content in the V-REX’s unique torque box runway design to offer platforms that are wider and stronger than others that may flex and sag under heavy loads. V-REX is available in three heavy-duty rated lifting capacities: 44,000-pounds, 64,000-pounds and 80,000-pounds.

Stertil Koni
6633
One of the most popular and certainly most portable heavy duty vehicle lifting systems in North America — Stertil-Koni mobile column lifts — have gotten even better.
Showcased at APTA 2017 will be the wireless version, which have no interconnecting communication cables and are easily relocated by a single operator via retractable wheels. Because no interconnecting cables are required, safety is enhanced, as the risk of operator tripping is eliminated.
Also featured as standard in these mobile column lifts are: an overload protection device; a dedicated mechanical locking system; and a fully automatic synchronization system that ensures proper, level lifting — even when the front and rear portions of the vehicle have substantial weight differences. Further, the models on display are powered by standard deep cycle batteries, typically lasting up to two weeks prior to recharging.
Capacity ranges from 16,500 lbs. to 40,000-pounds per column — easily handling the largest of transit vehicles in a 4- or 6-column configuration. Moreover, each wireless mobile column lift features a full-color, high resolution, 7-inch touch screen control panel — the ebright Smart Control System — putting all lifting information directly at the operator’s fingertips.
Terreplane Technologies, LLC
2242
Faster, cheaper, and more sustainable transportation is what Terreplane Technologies, LLC offers in the form of a patent-pending portfolio of technology. Costs of Terreplane are from 1 percent to 20 percent of the best available alternatives with lower-cost applications for bridges across rivers (piggybacking on existing structure).
Terreplane is based on continuous zipline-type guideways where vehicles propel themselves along the zipline at speeds great enough to provide aerodynamic lift so that the prominent force on the zipline is a pulling force. Flying trains of Terreplane vehicles would travel twenty feet above existing rail, street, and highway corridors with minimal impact on terrain.
Minimum velocities of about 100 mph are needed for air suspension; the pulling force inherently keeps the path free off bumps allowing speeds to near-sonic conditions. Terreplane is more than a new mode of transportation, it is a new approach with vast possibilities on where evolution of the technology will take us. It provides a path to a hyperloop type infrastructure as a result of this evolution and without the investment risk of going straight to such a system.
The market and patent portfolio covers more than 80% of the GWP. Nation-wide technology licenses are available for over 40 countries.

Meet the needs of all passengers. Priority vinyl is a high quality printed vinyl that identifies specific seats as being “reserved” for priority passengers. Available on any Freedman back cushion or insert, Priority Vinyl has been designed specifically to pair with Morbern’s Wave Freestyle Blue.
Both Priority Vinyl and matching Wave Freestyle Blue are easy to clean, stain and checmical resistant, antibacterial and antimicrobial. As with all Freedman Seating fabrics, these heavy-duty transit grade vinyls meet FMVSS No. 302 for flammability and smoke.
Voith

Tomlinson couplers are also mainly used on the American market. Voith has developed a proto-type combining their proven energy absorption systems with the Tomlinson coupling principle, allowing mechanical, electric and pneumatic connections to be established automatically.
As a system manufacturer, Voith offers solutions covering the entire driveline of rail vehicles. Operators benefit from additional reliability and efficiency as the components are optimally matched. Voith is exhibiting its Tomlinson couplers for railcars and subways in the North American market. This coupler is used, for example, on the Toronto Rocket, the current vehicle generation in the subway network serving the city of Toronto, Canada, and its population of more than 2.6 million.

The latest development is the purely electric central drive CeTrax, which can be used in delivery trucks and different bus applications in the inner city. In contrast, the AVE 130 electric portal axle for city buses with its electric drive near the wheels has already been established in serial application.
ZF's portfolio has been expanded by drive controls and inverters, so that alongside components, it can now offer vehicle manufacturers complete drive systems for electric buses. Furthermore, ZF has hybrid solutions in its portfolio, such as the TraXon Hybrid for coaches. The commercial vehicles industry is also reaping the benefits of the close link to e-mobility solutions for passenger cars. ZF is now looking into adapting the all-electric axle drive for cars so that it can be used in minibuses as well.
