Meet OGX, UTA’s next BRT line

Sept. 24, 2021
OGX will connect Ogden FrontRunner Station through downtown Ogden to Weber State University.

The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) announced its next bus rapid transit (BRT) line has officially been named OGX.

OGX, which stands for Ogden Express, keeps in line with UTA’s naming convention of its first BRT route, UVX (Utah Valley Express). OGX will connect Ogden FrontRunner Station through downtown Ogden to Weber State University.

Like UVX, OGX will have bus-aligned stations, run a fixed route and run at high-frequency — every 10-15 minutes on weekdays and 15-30 minutes on weekends.

UTA says this is a celebratory moment for a project that has been 22 years in the making, noting many people and organizations have made this moment possible and continue to work hard as the construction project continues through summer 2023.

This project will come online in two phases. The portion of OGX that will serve the Weber State campus will be in service the summer of 2022 and in the summer of 2023, the rest of the OGX route will be ready to welcome riders.
