Following a wide-ranging search we are pleased to announce that Michael McDaniel will be joining the TransLink enterprise as the President and General Manager of Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC). With more than 25 years of experience in customer and guest service industries, Michael will be a great addition to CMBC and the TransLink enterprise as we continue to grow our fleet and expand service across the region.
Prior to accepting this position Michael served as President and Chief Executive Officer at the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE). Spending the better part of 15 years in this role, Michael was responsible for the overall operation of the PNE. During his time with the PNE, Michael led the transition of the organization’s ownership from the Province of British Columbia to the City of Vancouver, and spearheaded the City Council-approved 30-year Master Plan for Hastings Park and the PNE.
Michael brings ample knowledge and experience of our region’s public transportation system as he served as Board Chair for the Coast Mountain Bus Company Board of Directors for two years. Michael is currently on the Board for the Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society (Celebration of Light Fireworks) and actively involved in his local community on the board for the Tri City Youth Basketball Association. In 2005, Michael was recognized as one of Vancouver's Top 40 under 40 by Business in Vancouver and has served as a mentor with the SFU Beedie School of Business.
