Message from TransLink CEO Kevin Desmond on the President of SkyTrain
The following is a statement from Kevin Desmond in regards to Vivienne King stepping down;
It’s with sadness that I am announcing that Vivienne King is stepping down from her role as president of SkyTrain to return to her home in Australia.
In the two years that Vivienne has been here with TransLink, we have seen record ridership on SkyTrain as well as significant progress in advancing SkyTrain’s reliability and customer service, and BCRTC has embarked on a program of improving its safety record. Under Vivienne’s leadership, the team at SkyTrain began operation of the Evergreen extension and integrated new Mark III cars into the fleet.
Vivienne has led the way in shifting SkyTrain to a customer-oriented organization whose front-line employees are focused on helping customers through their journey on our system. She has also helped us move the organization to one that is delivering improved performance through better business planning, benchmarking, and a commitment to doing the job right.
I know that Vivienne’s decision to return home to Australia was a personal one. While disappointed, I understand and support her decision. Her last day will be May 16. Following her departure, the current President of Coast Mountain Bus Company, Haydn Acheson, will take on the role of interim President of SkyTrain while we search for a permanent successor.
