GLTC Operator Wins First Place in State Roadeo

GLTC bus operator Jeremiah Gardner won first place in the 2018 Virginia State Bus Roadeo in Lynchburg and will advance to the international competition later this spring.

The Greater Lynchburg Transit Co. hosted the 2018 Virginia State Bus and Maintenance Roadeo in March with 11 transit agencies from across the Commonwealth competing.

GLTC’s maintenance team of Scott Poindexter, Jeremy Branham and Johnnie Birch placed third in the competition. GLTC’s Nathan Harris was awarded the Virginia Transit Liability Pool's Safest Operator award, and GLTC’s Jeremiah Gardner took firsts place in the 35 foot division and was also the top operator of the competition winning the overall first place operator award.

With his win, Gardner advances to the International Bus Roadeo, which will be held in Tampa, Florida, in May.
