George Furnanz was named president of Stacy and Witbeck Inc. He will take over the responsibilities of John Bollier, who had been president and CEO.

James White has been named a design engineer at Misco. He has more than 15 years of experience in transducer and audio system design in the highly detailed and process-oriented automotive sector. Jason Reiff was named a quality manager. He's a certified ISO 9001/TS16949 Lead Auditor, and will be responsible for Misco’s ISO 9001 certification.

Robert W. Strauss has been elected chair of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Board of Directors. Faye Moses Wilkins was elected vice chair. Dallas representative Richard Carrizales was elected secretary. Gary Slagel was elected assistant secretary.

Atkins North America

Paul Vespermann has joined Atkins’ transit and rail practice as project director in planning and program management group He will focus primarily on real estate and relocation ventures. Mahdi “Mark” Sabri, P.E., was named project management systems director. In his new role, he will lead efforts to reshape and evolve the engineering practices of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA). Daniel J. Smith, P.E., was named vice preisdent and senior group manager for transit and rail practice. He will oversee business development and program delivery for transit and rail business throughout the eastern U.S.

Corpus Christi RTA


Curtis A. Rock was appointed by the Nueces County Commissioners to the board of directors of the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA). The position is one of three county seats on the board. 

Guelph Transit

Phil Meagher was naned manager of transit operations for Guelph Transit. He will also act as interim general manager of the agency while the city recruits for a candidate to permanently fill the role. Bill Richardson has accepted the role of supervisor, Mobility Services at Guelph Transit. 

MTA New York 


Carmen Bianco has been named president of MTA New York City Transit. He has served as acting president since April, and previously served as senior vice president of the department of subways, overseeing the entire subway system since 2010.

Connected Controls Corp.


Maggie Cardin has joined Connected Controls Corp. as manager of customer relations. She comes with a wealth of customer service experience, having spent the last couple of years in car shop management as well as other positions focusing on customer service.

Parsons Corp.


W. Scott Harral, P.E., CCM, has been hired by Parsons as its western sector railroad construction manager. In this role he will be responsible for overseeing the construction of rail and transit systems projects in the western U.S.

Takashi Anraku has joined Harsco Rail as the sales representative covering Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. He will be based out of Dallas. Vincent Ming was named sales manager for China mainland and Hong Kong. He will be based out of Beijing. Todd Terrell was named district sales manager. He will be based out of the Dallas. Sloan Stewart was named district sales manager. He will be based out of Greenville, S.C. area.

RSCC Wire & Cable

Peter Moran has been named director, sales and marketing - transportation products for RSCC Wire & Cable. He will focus on promoting transit infrastructure sales. Jim Notarfrancesco, assumed additional management responsibilities in his expanded role as vice president – Exane sales, industrial and commercial products. Altin Dabulla has been named applications engineer. He has five years of prior experience in both design and application engineering.

Creative Bus Sales


Jeff Shank has been named general manager for Creative Bus Sales Florida location. He will work in the Jacksonville, Fla. location. 

Metro Bus


Ryan I. Daniel, WSO-CSS, joined Metro Bus as new executive director. He previously served as manager of bus service for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.



Sean Vargas was named director of sustainability for Psomas. His role is to guide project executives firm wide in making sustainable project delivery decisions. 

The Comet


Bob Schneider was named executive director of Central Midlands Transit (The Comet). He has led the transit agency in dual roles as executive director and general manager for Veolia since 2011.

CHK America 


Cullen McCormick joined CHK America as its project manager. He has more than 10 years of urban planning and transportation information design education.



Nathaniel Treen has joined Stertil-Koni as CAD drafter. In his new post, he brings a particularly strong, technical background to his role, having served previously as a CAD drafter at an engineering consulting and design firm.



Jeffrey P. Rosenstein has been named associate general counsel for URS Corp. He will have company-wide responsibility, initially focusing on work involving design-build and public-private partnerships, with emphasis on the development of contracting principles and risk allocation strategies.

First Transit


Christine Rhoads has been named senior manager of employee engagement and retention for First Transit. She will work to create a more positive and supportive employee life cycle environment and will be responsible for developing and coordinating a plan for on-boarding at First Transit locations across the U.S.



John Hogan was appointed chief transportation officer for the Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Co. (MBCR). He is responsible for management of all commuter rail lines and train movement, including oversight of schedules, onboard staff, and fare collection.



Brennan C. Grayson was named to the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority Board of Trustees. He is an active member of the community in Cincinnati. 

Vapor Bus 


Mark Kauk was appointed area sales and service manager – Canada region for Vapor Bus International. Prior to joining Vapor, Kauk served GO Transit-Toronto and Wabtec Rail.



The Arizona Transit Association (AzTA) Board of Directors elected Jeff Meilbeck, CEO and general manager of the Northern Arizona Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority as president; Katrina Heineking, general manager of Veolia in Phoenix as vice president; and Nate Peterson of MV Transportation as treasurer. Ron Barnes, national business development director with Total Transit is the final member of the executive team. New Board members seated to the board include Chris Fetzer, director, Northern Arizona Council of Governments (NACOG); Kammy Horne, planning manager, URS; Maria Hyatt, interim director, city of Phoenix Public Transit Department; Bernadette Kniffin, San Carlos Nnee Bich'o Nii Services; and Ryan Kooi, transit director, Sierra Vista Transit

BAE Systems


Robert Devine was selected as director of products and technology for BAE Systems HybriDrive Solutions. He previously served as the program manager for the business area’s fuel cell bus program.

VIA Metropolitan Transit


Jeffrey Arndt was selected by the VIA Metropolitan Transit Board of Trustees as the agency’s new president and chief executive officer. He first came to the agency in 2012 to fill the position of deputy CEO and head of business support services.

Anna Xiaohua Wang has been named a principal technical specialist in the New York City office of Parsons Brinckerhoff. She will be responsible for performing analytical modeling and design for a variety of projects, including tunnel fire safety, highway and road design, transit, and water and wastewater facilities. Ann Barr Kovara has been named a senior supervising architect in the Los Angeles office. She's a leader in the green transit sector and her experience includes the development of the sustainable guidelines, criteria, and policies and procedures for numerous transportation and facilities projects. Paula Hammond has been named senior vice president and national transportation market leader in the Seattle office. Skender Nezaj has been named a senior principal engineer in the Baltimore office. Christian Roberts has been named U.S. director of rail and transit asset management and will work in the Herndon, Va., office. 



The Lake County Board of Commissioners appointed Mary L. Bryner to the Laketran Board of Trustees. Trustees Donna McNamee and Jean Argo were reappointed to serve three-year terms.

Dayton RTA

John Seber was named chief maintenance officer for the Greater Dayton RTA. He will oversee one of RTA’s most ambitious projects, the dual mode bus build and rollout, scheduled for 2014. Robert Ruzinsky was named chief capital officer for the authority. He will be responsible for agency asset management, capital program planning, development and execution.

Executive Director Mark Donaghy was honored with the 2013 Leonard Ronis Transit Person of the Year award at Ohio Public Transit Association annual state conference on June 13. He received the award for his commitment to high standards to improve the public transit industry, dedicated leadership and vision as OPTA president and as a national advocate for the rights and interest of public transit access in local communities.



Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) announced Rohan Sadhai, AICP, has joined the transportation team in Florida. He has brings more than 12 years of experience to VHB.

Wes Coates has joined Systra as vice president, sector manager, planning and operations analysis. He has 35 years of experience in managing public transportation programs. Patrick Harrison, P.E., has been named vice president, sector manager, systems. He will the company's signal, communications and systems integration engineering practice. Steve Yazbek, P.E., LEED, AP, has been appointed communications director. He will lead Systra’s communications practice. Craig Jones has been named senior signals engineer and will serve as project manager on signal design projects. He will be based in Systa’s Philadelphia office. Yazeed Khayyat, P.E., has been named senior project manager He's a seasoned traction power manager and will lead many of Systra’s traction power design initiatives. Elio Gregorat, P.E., has been appointed senior project manager, infrastructure. He's an experience civil engineer with significant rail design experience. Scott Petretta has rejoined Systra as systems safety manager. He's an experienced security systems specialist with over 25 years of experience working with many transit agencies across the nation. Cameron Muhic was named rail operations analyst and will be based in the copmpany’s Los Angeles office. 



Sam Mansour, P.E., has joined TranSystems as senior vice president and client manager for the company’s passenger and freight rail practice areas. He will be responsible for business development, client service and growth strategies across the west region.



Anthony "Tony" Tom has joined GlobeSherpa as executive vice president. Tom brings more than a decade of payment processing in both open and closed loop systems, business development and client service experience to this position.



Amy Ericson has been appointed country president for the U.S. by Alstom. She will oversee Alstom’s engagement with U.S. policy stakeholders while directly supporting its pursuit of new business opportunities in the areas of thermal and renewable power generation, rail transit and electricity transmission and distribution.

STV Group

Kevin A. Pierce has joined STV as a senior vice president and New York operations manager for the firm's Transportation & Infrastructure Division. In this role, Pierce will oversee the growth of the firm's transportation & infrastructure team in New York.

Regional Transportation Authority of Chicago

Susan Bisno Massel was named director of communications and public affairs for the Chicago Regional Transportation Authority (RTA). She had worked for the city of Chicago the past six years.

MTM Inc.

Etta Jackson has joined MTM Inc. as its associate general counsel. In her role, she will support ongoing contractual compliance and assist in resolving litigation and other legal matters.


DesignLine Corp. hired Joshua Goldman as vice president of business development and Dan Kemper as director of sales. They will help the company meet the demand of the growing electric, turbine-electric hybrid and coach bus markets

Sun Tran

Sabrina Herrera, operations and scheduling manager at Sun Van was selected as an inclusive coordinated transportation catalyst in the National Knowledge Sharing Network. As a catalyst, the 57 nationally selected leaders bring a range of experiences, approaches and expertise to support colleagues from the 17 communities awarded grant funding to improve coordinated transportation services for older adults and persons with disabilities.


Alexandria Transit Company (ATC) announced the addition of Tonya L. McCray as its new director of finance and administration. She will be responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting functions and the coordination of those functions with the city’s systems.

 H.W. Lochner

Lochner announced the appointment of Craig C. Goodall, PE, as vice president. In his new position, Goodall is responsible for continuing the expansion of the firm’s multimodal transportation business, including rail and transit initiatives in the Northeast. 


Rob Victor, P.E., has joined HDR as transportation business group manager for Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland, based in Washington, D.C. and Vienna, Va. In addition to operations, his role includes business development, civic affairs and contribution on local projects.


Ken Becker was appointed sales manager at ARBOC Specialty Vehicles. He will work at all aspects of sales management including developing new accounts, sales training, customer service and supporting the ARBOC dealer network both domestically and internationally. 

Champaign-URbana Mass Transit District

Karl Gnadt was chosen to be the next managing director of the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD). He assumes the title of managing director designate and continues as director of market development until July 1, 2014.


Dennis Marshall was appointed vice president of business development for Masabi. He will be responsible for evolving new business opportunities for the company's JustRide product.


Visix Inc. has hired Greg Ramsey as sales engineer and Megan Heffernan as creative services coordinator. CEO Ed Matthews, was named chairman of the board.
