Metrobús recently purchased an additional 84 licenses for GoalBus —Goal Systems' scheduling solution for urban transit— to optimize the service of the new line “6”, of its mass transit system in Mexico City.

Goal Systems says that due to the strategic importance of this project, Metrobús realized right from the start that it needed the cutting-edge technology of a tool which is not only useful for planning and scheduling the operation in an optimized manner, but which also offers the best solution by providing all users with a service of the highest quality. GoalBus will equitably assign the work among the different operating companies that service the Metrobús system, which is a metropolitan area of close to nine million individuals.

Goal Systems says that its experts’ know-how and experience are crucial to solving the intricate scheduling issues of the system. Mexico’s Transit System operates a network of over 105 kms with 431 buses, and over 1 million passengers on a daily basis. Transit usage is on a steep trajectory and will be required to serve even more travelers in the future. Goal Systems’ software can be  integrated with Indra Sistema’s Operational Support Systems, thereby providing its clients with a complete scheduling solution.

Goal Systems says that it strongly believes that its solutions will continue to serve the present and future requirements of Metrobus. The company looks forward to working with Metrobús during the expansion of the system which is planned for the next few years as part of Mexico City’s ITDP Plan. The ITDP Plan has 18 new Metrobús lines and 12 additional Mexibús corridors which will carry up to 4+ million travelers in the near future, will be built.
