The Regional Transportation District’s new Mobile Tickets app for day passes is now live. Riders who use a day pass can now bypass lines and avoid a stop at ticket vending machines by using the new RTD Mobile Tickets app on their Apple or Android mobile device. For bus customers who pay with cash, this is especially convenient since they won’t have to worry about having exact change for their fare each time they ride with a day pass.

“This is exciting for RTD and our customers. This is further evidence that RTD is in tune with what our customers want and need in order to keep them moving in this fast paced region we live in,” said RTD CEO and General Manager Dave Genova.

Customers simply download the app, purchase a pass with a credit card and activate the pass before boarding a bus or train.

Things to Know

Customers can find the app in their app store by searching for “RTD Mobile Tickets.”

The mobile ticketing app supports Local and Regional/Airport Day Passes only.

Users must buy tickets on the day of travel. They cannot pre-buy for future dates (this feature will be added in the future).

Users must activate their ticket within the app before boarding the bus or train and display a valid ticket for operators and fare inspectors. This activated ticket includes a time stamp that moves in a pattern on the screen to prevent fraud.

Purchased tickets expire at 2:59 a.m. the following morning even if they aren’t used.
