L.A. Metro riders can now tap for their fare with a wristband.

Aug. 6, 2019

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has launched TAP Flex wristbands, which allows riders to store and scan passes.

The wristbands are part of TAP’s new line of products called TAP wearables and are available at all Metro Customer Centers beginning August 5.

TAP Flex wristbands are made of silicone and are available in black or blue. TAP wearables function just like a regular TAP card — load Stored Value and passes onto it and register it online at taptogo.net. TAP Flex can be used on any agency that accepts TAP.

Reload TAP Flex online at taptogo.net, by calling 866.TAPTOGO, at over 450 TAP vendor locations and at all TAP vending machines.

TAP Flex costs $10 and is only available at Metro Customer Centers. Quantities are limited.

Additional TAP wearables will be released later in August. These include TAP Stretch wristbands, made of elastic fabric, and TAP Mini keychain fobs.
