Metrolink will begin the construction of rail-highway grade crossing improvements on the San Bernardino Line starting April 5 and continuing through November 2017.

The project will result in increased safety for train riders, pedestrians and vehicles. Improvements from this project include the installation and coordination of traffic signals, improved signage, striping and warning strips, driveway and pedestrian ramp modifications and vehicular and pedestrian gates with flashing signals.

There will be intermittent construction impacts to the crosswalk at Citrus Avenue in the City of Covina and the entrance to the Covina Metrolink Station requiring pedestrians to use the crosswalk at Front Street and Citrus Avenue when these impacts occur.

There may be traffic delays during construction due to lane reductions. Additionally, communities may experience noise and dust due to construction activities.
