On Thursday, June 16 from 10 a.m. until about 2 p.m., Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority and Transdev staff will take part in a Cincinnati Streetcar full-scale emergency exercise.

The training exercise scenario will be a service-related emergency that includes local police, fire and other emergency response organizations. The exercise will be held outside the Cincinnati Streetcar Maintenance & Operating Facility (MOF) on Henry Street in Over the Rhine, next to Rhinegeist.

The public should be aware that this is only an exercise; do not to be alarmed by sirens and other activities around the exercise location.

The exercise is part of the safety certification for the Cincinnati Streetcar system. There have also been tabletop-style exercises related to streetcar incidents this spring as the system prepares for revenue service on Sept. 9.

This full-scale exercise will provide an opportunity to test procedures so that all affected parties are better prepared in case of an emergency.
