VHB Welcomes New Director of Transit and Rail Systems

VHB announces that Steve McElligott, PE, has joined the firm’s Transit and Rail leadership as director of transit and rail systems.

VHB announces that Steve McElligott, PE, has joined the firm’s Transit and Rail leadership as director of transit and rail systems. McElligott will help integrate and align VHB’s National Transit and Rail resources to develop responsive solutions to mobility issues affecting clients nationwide.  

A well-recognized and respected leader in the industry, McElligott brings nearly 25 years of experience providing management, oversight, and strategic guidance on transit and transportation programs across the country. His extensive experience includes technical delivery of comprehensive, multi-disciplined infrastructure engineering solutions, with proficiency in rail transit systems engineering. McElligott has provided leadership and strategic guidance in support of some of the region’s most critical mobility projects, including Amtrak’s New Jersey High-Speed Rail Improvement Program, Miami Dade Transit’s East-West Corridor, and the St. Louis Metro Cross County Extension. In his new role, McElligott will assist clients with their most complex mobility issues, by helping them make informed, smart decisions on where and how to improve existing and proposed infrastructure, while supporting the growth that is essential to the vitality of their communities.

McElligott received his MS and BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
