The company will bring its expertise in shared mobility and sustainability to the SkyRail project.

Los Angeles SkyRail Express (LASRE) is partnering with Keolis in North America. Keolis operates and maintains a broad range transportation networks with shared mobility solutions across 13 countries, including trains, buses and coaches, on demand transport and automated metro and tramway systems.

“LASRE has strengthened its team with the addition of Keolis, a global leader in the shared mobility market with over a century long track record of enhancing the experience of transit passengers,” said Michael Hoghooghi, LASRE CEO and consortium director. “Our aspirations for passenger delight and sustainability align perfectly well between that of LASRE and Keolis.”

"We are honored to form this partnership with LASRE. We look forward to working closely with other prestigious and experienced transit professionals such as John Laing, BYD, Skanska, HDR, Innova and Gensler to further enhance the regions transit option between the San Fernando Valley and the Westside," said Gerald Francis, president, Keolis commuter service.

LASRE was the highest technically ranked team that was awarded a Predevelopment (PDA) by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (L.A. Metro) for the Sepulveda Transit Corridor (STC) Project.

Under the PDA, LASRE is working collaboratively with L.A. Metro to provide the most modern high-capacity SkyRail solution to ease congestion on the I-405 (Sepulveda) corridor between Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley to the Westside in the shortest timeframe possible; providing a long-term sustainable solution, which integrates with the existing transit networks in this densely populated region.

SkyRail would be configured for a potential peak line capacity of up to 22,000 passengers per hour per direction (pphpd), with a two-minute headway. Recognizing the importance of connectivity to UCLA, the SkyRail Alternatives are developed with inputs considered from all stakeholders to facilitate connectivity. Given the design flexibilities of SkyRail, LASRE aims to deliver the project with the fastest construction time possible.
