The 30 percent level of design was completed Oct. 30 and a Final Environmental Impact Statement is being prepared in cooperation with FTA.

The Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s (DART) D2 Subway Project has reached 30 percent completion of preliminary design.

The 30 percent level of design was completed Oct. 30 and a Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) is being prepared in cooperation with Federal Transit Administration (FTA). The FTA plans to issue a combined FEIS and Record of Decision (ROD) to environmentally clear the project so it can advance into the next stage of development.

DART has been working closely with FTA to position the project for federal funding and entry into the next phase of the Capital Investment Grant (CIG) program known as Engineering. Once the FEIS/ROD is issued and FTA approves the project into the Engineering phase, DART will advance the project through detailed design and construction. Public, agency and stakeholder involvement will continue to be integral to the process, says DART.
