Buildings in Federal Way will be demolished for Sound Transit’s Federal Way Transit Center

The agency is demolishing buildings that would pose a safety concern if left standing.

Sound Transit crews will begin the demolition of several buildings on S. 320th Street between 23rd Avenue South and 21st Avenue South as part of the critical construction work on the Federal Way Link Project.

This work is expected to continue for several weeks.

Sound Transit is demolishing buildings along the Federal Way alignment that would pose a public health or safety concern if left standing. This work is continuing under Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state and local health and safety guidelines for COVID-19.

The area of S. 320th will be the site of a new Link light-rail station at the Federal Way Transit Center. The station will integrate bus and rail service, provide street improvements and add 400 new parking spaces for transit users.
