The STM Board of Directors Extends Chief Executive Officer Luc Tremblay’s Contract

July 8, 2019

In light of continuous projects, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) Board of Directors agreed to extend Luc Tremblay’s contract to December 31, 2022 during its meeting on July 3.

During the public board meeting, Philippe Schnobb, chairman of the STM board of directors, said, “The board believes that it is essential to send a message of stability to all STM employees and to our partners at various levels of government. For this reason, we have extended Luc Tremblay’s contract to December 31, 2022, to ensure that all major projects are properly delivered. Luc Tremblay has transformed the STM and put it on the path to excellence, and the board wishes to sustain this momentum to reach even greater heights.”

The STM’s customer service offering is growing with the extension of metro network service hours and next year’s arrival of 300 buses, which will allow the company to reach record levels, not to mention the continued development of its paratransit service.

Other factors in this growth include infrastructure projects such as the addition and expansion of bus garages, the Pie-IX Bus Rapid Transit project and the extension of the blue line, as well as the increase in universally accessible stations and the future launch of an integrated mobility strategy.
