The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority received the award for being the Outstanding Public Transportation System in the state in 2018 from the Florida Public Transportation Association.

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority received the award for being the Outstanding Public Transportation System in the state in 2018 from the Florida Public Transportation Association at their Annual Conference, held October 14 through 17, 2018 in Daytona Beach, Florida.

“Each and every one of our employees played a part in helping the Agency to achieve this honor. As always, I am grateful to them for their dedication and professionalism. I am extremely proud of the SFRTA team,” said Executive Director Jack Stephens in announcing the award.

In addition, the SFRTA’s marketing efforts were recognized with four awards. First place was given to the Fun Guide, a printed and electronic brochure with a list of South Florida destinations accessible using Tri-Rail. Second place went to a Safety Poster and “Our Price is Right” for Electronic Media. Third place went to “Our Price is Right” for Sustaining Campaign.

These awards come at a pivotal time for the Agency, as it prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary in January 2019, anticipates launching direct Tri-Rail service into Downtown Miami, and faces the prospect of new leadership with Mr. Stephens’ approaching retirement after serving the SFRTA for the past 15 years.
