VIA Moves Me Video Series Earns National Marketing Award

The American Public Transportation Association has announced VIA Metropolitan Transit’s first-place AdWheel win for Best Marketing and Communications Educational Effort.

The American Public Transportation Association has announced VIA Metropolitan Transit’s first-place AdWheel win for Best Marketing and Communications Educational Effort. The AdWheel award was presented to VIA Feb. 28, 2018 at APTA’s 2018 Marketing & Communications Workshop and Awards Celebration in San Francisco. The award recognizes the “VIA Moves Me” video series, which captures the personal stories and experiences of VIA’s passengers, in their own words.

The “VIA Moves Me” series produced seven videos in 2017, which are shared on VIA’s website, VIAinfo.net, and social media platforms. The series generates awareness and builds a dialogue about the value of VIA’s programs and services while illustrating the very real impact public transportation has on our community, our businesses, our families, and our neighbors. 

“VIA makes the connection between people and the things that matter most to them — education, opportunity, family, health,” VIA President/CEO Jeffrey C. Arndt said. “By sharing our riders’ stories through ‘VIA Moves Me,’ we show how public transit is moving people forward, in both figurative and literal ways. It has brought greater awareness to the services VIA provides and the role the agency plays in building a better and brighter San Antonio.”

APTA presents the AdWheel awards to acknowledge the creative excellence of member public transportation systems and business members in advertising, communications, and marketing.
