Wolf Joins WSP USA Acoustics, Vibration and Air Quality Practice in California

Steven Wolf has been named business development director for the acoustics, vibration and air quality (AVAQ) group in the Los Angeles office of WSP USA, formerly WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff.

In his new position, Wolf is responsible for developing and growing the AVAQ practice and providing technical support to its client base. He will work out of the firm’s Los Angeles and Orange, California offices.

Wolf is an expert in the field of noise and vibration with over 35 years of experience in transit, rail, highway, construction and building acoustics. His work in transit noise and vibration includes the analysis of ground borne noise and vibration as it affects building structures; airborne noise control programs for elevated and at-grade transitways; acoustical design of transit stations; and design of trackwork, building foundations, and structures to control ground borne vibration. Additionally, his experience includes the control of ground borne noise and vibration resulting from underground construction activities as well as providing design services during construction.  He comes to WSP from a Pasadena firm where he served as a vice president in charge of transit and rail noise and vibration consulting. From 1985 to 2011, he was a senior environmental planning manager at WSP, working on acoustics, noise and vibration, air quality, and hazardous materials.

Wolf received a B.S. in mathematics from Long Island University. His professional affiliations include TRB ADC 40 Committee on Transportation Noise and Vibration, Institute of Noise Control Engineering (INCE) and the APTA Rail, Noise and Vibration Technical Forum.
