People on the Move: Fiona Cousins; Nigel Nicholls; David Jones; Kevin Foreman and Jon Baldwin

Personnel updates from Arup, Matrox Video, SWVL and Verra Mobility

Arup appointed Fiona Cousins as chair of the Americas Region and Nigel Nicholls has been named chief operating officer of the Americas Region. Their appointments reflect the firm's focus on sustainability and innovation. Four regional leaders will drive Arup's local operations to ensure the highest quality client service: Sean Meadows (Canada), Federico Torres Jimenez (South), Brian Swett (East) and Scott Russell (West). Additionally, Arup named eight new leaders for its priority businesses and services: Bill Scrantom (Property, Science, Industry and Technology – and Social Infrastructure, including Healthcare), Jenny Buckley (Aviation, Highways, Rail), Brian Raine (Energy, Water and Resources), Tim Treharne (Advisory Services), Chris Pollock (Technical Services), Gideon D'Arcangelo (Digital Services), Paul Moore (Cities, Planning and Design) and Robert Kay (Climate Services and Sustainability).

Matrox® Video appointed David Jones as vice president of engineering. Jones will be responsible for providing leadership to the hardware and software engineering teams, shaping the company’s strategic vision and growing a first-class team to pioneer the next generation of video innovations. Jones brings more than 35 years of industry experience to Matrox Video, having held leadership positions at broadcast and entertainment companies such as Autodesk, Grass Valley, LANDR Audio and LVL Studio and product leadership roles at cloud-based enterprises such as Averna, Element AI and Lightspeed.

Swvl Inc., a provider of tech-enabled mass transit solutions, named Kevin Foreman as global head of B2G (business-to-government) offerings. Foreman will be based in the United States and will play a key role in driving organic and inorganic growth in North America, among other regions. Forman joins Swvl from Optibus, where he served as general manager, North America, and was responsible for leading the company's U.S. and Canada expansion.

Verra Mobility, a provider of smart mobility technology solutions, named Jon Baldwin executive vice president of government solutions, effective April 4, 2022. Baldwin previously served as president of Fortive's Gems, Sensors and Controls business, a global supplier of industrial sensors and control components. He brings 26 years of experience leading global business operations, including a focus on business-to-government software and services.

She is an active member of the American Public Transportation Association's Marketing and Communications Committee and served 14 years as a Board Observer on the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) Board of Directors.  

She is a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.
