Environmentally friendly transport is already an established reality on the rails. And to help protect the environment, the conversion to electrically powered vehicles is just as necessary on the roads too. From September 18 to 21 the Bus Display at InnoTrans focuses on this particular subject. This unique space in the centrally located ‘Sommergarten’ combines the Static Display of electric buses with a 500-meter long test track for demonstrating these vehicles.
This September trade visitors attending InnoTrans will be able to acquaint themselves with innovative developments from four new exhibitors at the Bus Display. Alstom, known primarily as a leading specialist constructor of rail vehicles, is using the Bus Display to introduce its Aptis to the world for the first time. This electric bus has been developed jointly with the Alstom subsidiary NTL and actually looks more like a tram, but on wheels, on account of its bodywork and the continuous low floor. It is also very manoeuvrable, because all four wheels can be steered.
Linkker, a mass producer of electric buses in Finland, is presenting its Linkker 12+, which is of lightweight construction and provides excellent energy efficiency. With a powerful lithium-titanium oxide battery and short intermediate charging times it has a daily range of up to 350 kilometres.
The range of products on offer from the French component manufacturer Faiveley Transport includes auxiliary power converters and air conditioning units as well as components for the entire power train for buses and rail vehicles. LogPay Mobility Services, a newcomer to this trade show, is offering trade visitors technical support for selling tickets through mobiles and online, as well as on behalf of employers.
Sileo from Salzgitter, Solaris from Poland and VDL from the Netherlands will once again be demonstrating their vehicles. Sileo will be exhibiting its emission-free, bi-articulated bus, the Sileo S25. Solaris is bringing two buses to the Exhibition Grounds: the Trollino 12 trolleybus and the all-electric, battery-powered Urbino 12, a low-floor public service bus. Alongside the Bus Display on the Outdoor Display the French company SA Lohr Industrie is presenting its new i-Cristal public transport system, which can operate in self-driving mode.
The Bus Display is thematically linked with the Public Transport segment, which covers more than 22,000 m², making it the third largest segment at InnoTrans. In large cities and urban areas in particular public transport is setting the pace in the development of electric mobility.
International Bus Forum makes its debut
The International Bus Forum is now responding to the trend for the electrification of public transport on the roads. The subject matter for this new format, which forms part of the InnoTrans Convention, has been put together by the Association of German Transport Companies.

At the same time visitors can find information at the Dialog Forum about the digital transformation taking place in public rail and bus transport. This discussion round with experts will be held at the Palais am Funkturm and is organised by the Association of German Transport Companies and the German Transport Forum.
