New Flyer and MCI Make a Splash as the Official Transportation Sponsor for the 2017 Canada Summer Games

New Flyer Industries Canada ULC and Motor Coach Industries have proudly teamed up as the Official Transportation Sponsor of the 2017 Canada Summer Games, and Presenting Sponsor of Swimming.

A colorfully designed 2017 Canada Summer Games-themed MCI J4500 coach is traveling through Winnipeg during the final leg of the Torch Relay, transporting the official torch bearer team. The MCI J4500 coach, which is proudly made in Winnipeg and is North America's best-selling tour and charter coach, will also supply transportation at official swimming events.

In announcing the sponsorship, Paul Soubry, president and chief executive officer of the Company, said, "We are so proud to support such an important event in our community. It not only gives young athletes a chance to shine on their way to Olympic dreams, but it's especially exciting as a major sporting event that showcases Canadian talent in our own back yard."

The Canada Summer Games is Canada's largest multi-sport competition for young athletes, occurring July 28 through August 13 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Alongside Canada's 150th birthday, this year marks a half-century for the Games. Winnipeg is the largest city to ever host the Games, which feature 16 sports, more than 250 events and a major cultural festival. The Games will welcome more than 4,000 athletes and coaches and attract more than 20,000 visitors.
